Entertaining and thought provoking Erica! Becoming a parent definitely can shift perspective. I haven’t listened to the podcast yet but hoping to at some point
How do you reconcile Zuckerberg having skin in the game and his alleged authenticity when discussing his daughters with his recent right wing sycophancy in dismantling any fact checking / moderation on his platform? The guy has been media trained for over a decade. I don't think you can take anything he says at face value while he's on the world's most popular podcast.
I disagreed with your statement of shutting down conversations in practice. If you can’t/wont question yourself before being concerned with someone else’s contemplative post, you may have some opportunities. My initial comment just highlighted that your questions for Erica were clearly coming from a biased perspective.
Debates are great, projected opinions in comments are often not.
I don't think it's unreasonable to question the authenticity of one of the world's most richest people talking on one of the largest platforms and asking yourself: why is he bringing up these topics? How does that make me feel about him? Why would he want me to feel that way about him?
This isn't some random father talking with a friend of his at a coffeeshop. The context is vital.
I actually don’t disagree with John on many of his points. Appreciate the mental push and I try to give it back from time to time where it makes sense. Respect to all
Disagree with what? Your criticism is a truism of the human experience. Yes, we all have biases, but don't use that fact as a means to inhibit debate. Instead you can expand on what biases I am exposing when I made my first assessment of Zuckerberg's incentives and actions.

I don’t either.
Reflection great, projection meh.
Vital is also a mental state.
This got spicy! Thanks for the back and forth, gentlemen.

Hard to take anything at face value when our biases influence our assessments. Important to question our own before we question others 👊🏻
In practice, this amounts to shutting down any conversation.
Respectfully disagree.
In practice, for me, it amounts to acknowledging my own bias and then not being overly concerned with others.
